Accessibility Statement for Digital Services

This accessibility statement applies to the digital services offered at https://webshore.eu. My goal is to make these services accessible in accordance with the requirements of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG), the European Accessibility Act (EAA), and technical standards such as WCAG 2.1 Level AA and EN 301 549.

Service Description

I provide web design, technical consulting, and development services, with a focus on WordPress. This includes concept creation, design, maintenance, and optimization of both new and existing websites, as well as hosting solutions.

Compliance Status

The services mentioned above are partially compliant with the applicable legal requirements for accessibility.

Non-Accessible Content and Features

  • Some third-party services (e.g., the booking tool Cal.com) are embedded and cannot be fully optimized for accessibility due to limited technical control.
  • Some embedded videos do not have subtitles, which fails to meet WCAG Success Criterion 1.2.2 (Captions – prerecorded).
  • Certain older PDF and Office documents are not fully accessible. For example, some PDFs lack proper tagging, making them difficult or impossible to use with screen readers (WCAG 4.1.2 – Name, Role, Value).

Disproportionate Burden

Some older videos embedded via YouTube or Vimeo do not include audio descriptions. Providing these retrospectively would constitute a disproportionate burden (WCAG 1.2.5 – Audio Description – prerecorded). All future video content will be published with subtitles or accompanied by a written transcript.

Planned Improvements and Timelines

  • I aim to provide subtitles or textual alternatives for audiovisual content by the end of 2025.
  • The newsletter subscription process is currently being revised to meet accessibility standards. No exact timeline can be given yet.
  • Older documents that are not fully accessible will be replaced or supplemented upon request with accessible alternatives.
  • All newly published documents will follow accessibility best practices according to WCAG 2.2 and PDF/UA. Non-accessible exceptions (e.g., print versions) will be clearly labeled.

Creation and Review of This Statement

This accessibility statement was created on 14 June 2025 and last reviewed on 1 June 2025. The assessment was based on a self-evaluation using internal review methods and technical guidelines.
